Further Program info:

  1. The program is financially administered by the Westfield Boys & Girls Club. For the 2012 program, the WBGC has set the fee at $135.00 / session (Includes all 6 weeks), plus the one time membership fee defined in item #2. If you have any questions in this area, including available discounts, please send an E Mail to the WBGC Program Director, Ms. Kellie Brown at kbrownwbgc@comcast.net , or call the WBGC directly at (413) 562-2301.
  2. In addition to the program fee, each participant must purchase a Boys & Girls club membership for a one time fee of $35.00. The membership allows participation in all the WBGC club programs (Click here for more information on Club Programs) and covers the students insurance costs. (A membership covers a full school year).
  3. Once the program dates are set, I will send an E Mail to everyone that is registered, and you can stop by the WBGC to get your membership fee and register in place.
  4. This year the WBGC is requiring all program fees to be paid in advance of the first class, to participate. Payments can be made by mail (Mail check), or by phone using any major debit or credit card.
  5. The program scheduling is administered by pitching instructor, Mike Markiewicz. All scheduling issues can be directed to me at mike@nwselite.com
  6. Each pitcher must bring their own catcher (A parent, sibling or friend is fine), and each catcher must wear a face mask as a minimum.
  7. All catchers under the age of 18 must become WBGC members (a $30 one time fee) for insurance purposes. As mentioned above, the membership is for a full year and allows each member to participate in Boys & Girls Club programs. (Financial aide is available from the WBGC for the membership fee).
  8. We strongly recommend additional protective equipment for catchers as well, such as shin guards. (We do have some limited equipment to lend, but again, we recommend you get your own if at all possible).
  9. It is a real benefit if the pitchers can work with their regular season catcher to develop a "battery" approach to pitching. (Some limited training with the catchers is provided).
  10. The WBGC will provide the practice balls. They are a special type called a "Flexi Ball" that are used for safety reasons. The practice balls cannot be taken home. However, you can order these over the internet, or at most good sports equipment stores. (For reference - Diamond Flexi-ball #DFX-12RFP – 12 Inch, or DFX-11RFP – 11 Inch. These are "Optic Yellow" color, with real leather cover. They can be ordered from Anaconda Sports at (800) 327-0074, or on line at www.anacondasports.com)
  11. Clearly mark all of your own equipment (including your personal practice balls) with your name.
  12. Pitchers and catchers must wear indoor sneakers with "non-marking" soles.
  13. If you cannot make your class for some reason (school activities, family obligations, etc), we will try our very best to offer you a make up class on a space available basis. However, please regard this as a courtesy, and not classes that are owed to you because you could not attend.
